CLYC (Ce-doped Cs₂LiYCl₆) is an advanced inorganic scintillator crystal specifically designed for simultaneous neutron and gamma-ray detection. It combines high light output, excellent pulse shape discrimination (PSD) capability, and intrinsic sensitivity to both thermal neutrons and gamma radiation.
Unlike conventional scintillators that detect only gamma rays, CLYC enables real-time neutron–gamma discrimination within a single detector, making it highly valuable for homeland security, nuclear safeguards, radiation monitoring, and advanced nuclear physics research.
CLYC scintillators exhibit strong scintillation responses to thermal neutrons through the ⁶Li(n,α)t reaction, while maintaining excellent gamma energy resolution. The combination of high light yield and distinct decay components allows reliable PSD using standard digital electronics.
We supply high-quality CLYC single crystals with controlled composition, optical-grade polishing, and optional hermetic encapsulation to ensure long-term stability. Custom crystal sizes and detector assemblies are available for research laboratories and OEM integration.
