Ho:YAG (Holmium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) crystal is a solid-state laser gain medium widely used for mid-infrared laser systems, operating primarily at ~2.09–2.12 μm. Due to its strong absorption in water and biological tissue, Ho:YAG lasers are extensively applied in medical surgery, lithotripsy, urology, and minimally invasive procedures, as well as in LIDAR, materials processing, and scientific research.
Ho:YAG crystals are typically Tm:YAG laser pumped (around 1.9 μm), enabling efficient energy transfer and stable laser operation. Compared with other mid-IR laser crystals, Ho:YAG offers high slope efficiency, good thermal stability, and reliable long-term performance, making it suitable for both pulsed and continuous-wave (CW) laser designs.
Our Ho:YAG crystals are grown with strict control of dopant concentration, crystal orientation, and optical quality. Precision polishing and optional AR coatings ensure excellent beam quality and compatibility with medical-grade and industrial laser systems. Custom dimensions and specifications are available for OEM and research applications.
